Our Year 1-8 rural school is nestled at the entrance to the rugged Waioeka Gorge, 70km inland from Gisborne. We may be remote but our school is part of a supportive and exciting agricultural community.
We are fortunate to have extensive grounds and play areas, a heated indoor swimming pool, state-of-the-art basketball court, a library, breakout spaces, and three classrooms - each with small class sizes, experienced teachers, and dedicated learning support assistants. Our school is a wonderful place to work and learn at!

After advice from the Ministry, and speaking with our Presiding Member - I can confirm that school is OPEN today. Our buildings are dry, warm, and ready for learning!
We completely understand that road conditions may vary across our area. Please prioritise your safety—if you feel unsafe driving or prefer to keep your children at home today, we fully support your decision. Just be sure to notify the school office so we can mark their attendance correctly.
