Are you passionate about supporting young learners as they begin their educational journey? Matawai School is seeking a dedicated Teacher Aide to join our team in 2025 for a special project designed to support our new entrant students.

Role Details:

• Start Date: Monday, 11th February 2025

• End Date: Wednesday, 17th December 2025

• Hours: 7 hours per week, spread across two days (Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9am – 12:30pm)

• Focus: Supporting the transition of new entrant students into school life, with a particular emphasis on Literacy and Mathematics skills.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the classroom teacher to assist new entrant students with their learning.

• Provide targeted support to build foundational Literacy and Mathematics skills.

• Help ensure a smooth and positive transition for students as they settle into school routines.

Ideal Candidate:

• Enjoys working with young children and has a patient, caring nature.

• Has excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff and students.

• Experience in supporting children’s learning (particularly in Literacy and Mathematics) is advantageous but not essential.
